Technology has long been proposed as a potential solution to the problem of poverty. Yet, it has also been argued that it could be the very cause of widening poverty.

It is undeniable that technological advancements have enabled new opportunities, but the unequal access to technology limits its effectiveness, particularly in the context of developing nations. In such cases, the availability of computer and internet technologies can give those living in challenging economic conditions the opportunity to make more informed decisions that have a positive impact on their financial security.

Moreover, studies have revealed that access to education could reduce poverty on a global level by giving people the chance to transform their lives and bring an end to generations of deprivation. Although it can be argued that technology can bridge the gap between poverty and wealth, it is essential to acknowledge that access to such resources should be distributed in an equitable way.

By encouraging the use of technology in education throughout the developing world, not only could we bridge the educational gap, but also make a dramatic impact on how students learn and access knowledge. This would also transform entire communities. Students could harness what they learn and apply that across their community. The issue with the introduction of technology into the developing world is the lack of modern infrastructure needed for that to work.

Over the last several decades, we have witnessed significant progress towards modernity in low-to-middle income countries, primarily as a result of non-governmental organizations and charitable organizations providing support in crucial areas. Innovation is essential for establishing a promising future and is only achievable with government aid and individual advancement.

Technology can have a profound effect on the reduction of poverty whilst also arguably increasing disparity. It has and can become a major asset in the fight against poverty, especially throughout developing nations. In these countries, it is vital that it is increasingly used as a tool to bridge gaps in education and community division.

I believe that technology has the power to foster economic growth and promote global inclusion. By making knowledge and information more widely accessible, technology can play an invaluable role in helping to alleviate poverty and bring greater opportunity to disadvantaged communities.
